It is not without some sense of pride that we are so excited to share this pretty, pretty cool feature we have implemented for our trip — and probably for our own sakes.

A simple color code for the kids, for them to easily retrieve their items. We have spent the last few months hovering around looking for each item in the right color. Starting with each kid choosing their color, and yes, I could go on about how much these colors do make sense and match each of their personalities, and how we now fully link together each child and their color in our day-to-day activities.

Here is the decoder (we start easy, as our next decoding exercise may be in hieroglyphs):

• Noor is Blue

• Arya is Green

• Zayn is Yellow

And then the magic will unveil:

"We're missing the green toothbrush… Ahh, it's Arya! No need to blame it on your siblings — drama avoided."

"Do we have all the sunglasses? Yes, I've got the blue, the green and the yellow one… and Papa does not need to remember the each items' features every time, just 3 colors and you're good to go — drama avoided."

"Where is Zayn? Spot the yellow running little guy in the airport, easy to find, Mama's heart can stop racing — drama avoided."

"Kids, take your packing cubes from the suitcase and put them in the drawers — no questions asked, they each know what to do, Mama can drink a cocktail — drama avoided."

For the sake of completeness and complete madness (also because we have had so much fun hunting for our colors), here is the list of colored items so far, and we invite you to keep on spotting them throughout the trip.
And although it does sound intense, I can already testify that it is super convenient, super helpful and very effective. Something like feeling the force help you find your way Luke … just follow your color, strong it is within you !

Until next time,
R.
